Igor Stravinski and Edward Clug: Les Noces & Le Sacre du printemps

At the 77th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the audience can expect an extraordinary ballet story performed by the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor, presenting two monumental works of 20th-century musical and stage art: Les Noces and Le Sacre du printemps by Igor Stravinsky, choreographed by Edward Clug. Le Sacre du printemps depicts a pagan sacrificial ritual in which the individual is subordinated to the power of the natural cycle and the collective rhythm of the community, while Les Noces, through the portrayal of a wedding ceremony, follows the emotional journey of a bride and groom from coercion and separation to the acceptance of shared life.
