The Norwegian Baroque Ensemble, based in Oslo, was formed through the merger of Barokkanerne and the Norwegian Baroque Orchestra. Both ensembles made their debut in the late 1980s and have since become leading early music groups in Norway. They have performed at numerous festivals across Europe, and this year they will appear at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, performing alongside Norwegian violinist Ragnhild Hemsing, who plays a violin by Francesco Ruggeri.
